Interview with Adrienne Wilkinson Entrance: If you had to be stranded on a desert island with a person, what traits from your Xena co-stars would you want the person to have? Adrienne: Well, it would be a combination of the best of everything. Using the characters I would say Xena's ingenuity and quick thinking, Gabrielle's heart and bravery, and Joxer's sense of humor. That would make a great companion.
Entrance: If you could change one thing about yourself, what would you change? Adrienne: I wouldn't worry as much. I definitly over think and over analyse everything. I would be much less stressed-if I just stopped worrying about things I had no control over. Entrance: Which character did you enjoy playing more--Eve or Livia? Adrienne: They both had some awesome moments. But Livia is my definite favorite. She was a sexy, fabulous little tiger. Entrance: I've heard your an awesome singer. Are you pursueing that as a career? Adrienne: Not at the moment - but I'm sure that music will come back into my professional life at some point. I love to sing- and I love it more each time I get the chance to use it. Hopefully singing could be incorporated into a future project. Entrance: What is your dream roll? What character would you LOVE to play? Adrienne: There are tons of characters that I would love to play. But for a while now, I've had a facination with the true story of Mata Hari. She was an amazing woman. She was very misunderstood and her reputation doesn't begin to do justice to whom she really was. Entrance: Do you still talk with any of the other cast of Xena? Adrienne: Yes, quite often. It is a great group of people, I'll always be grateful that they are in my life. I hope to work with them again eventually. Entrance: If you had 3 wishes, what would they be? Adrienne: That's an impossible question to answer. It would take me days to decide. Entrance: Did you have to tap into any inner rage to be Livia?
Adrienne: Everyone has anger. I didn't have anything that compared to what Livia was experiencing- and that's where the tools of acting come in. Creating that level of emotion and bringing truth to it, when it something that is beyond anything I've ever experienced in real life. Entrance: When you appeared on MTV's "Undressed",were you comfortable with the kissing and so on scenes? Adrienne: It's impossible to be comfortable doing any type of love scene. They are just ...well, wierd. But Harold (who played Tucker) was great - and we spent most of our work day laughing at the ridiculousness of the scenes we were doing. I'm not a fan of doing love scenes - but that's one of the reasons I took the job on undressed - just a way to tackle a fear and overcome part of a job. Entrance: If you could be any animal, what would you be? Adrienne: I think it would be amazing to fly - I might even go skydiving later this fall. So I guess I would choose to be a bird. Maybe an owl - because they can fly, but they also seem like they have an amazing amount of wisdom behind their eyes. Entrance: If you could be one person for a day,who would you be? Adrienne: Just to know her better - I would like to be my mom for a day. I think mothers and daughters have this amazing connection - and this would only strengthen our understanding of one another.
Entrance: Having worked on "Xena",you must have heard of the Subtext Issue. How do you view Xena and Gabrielle's relationship? Adrienne: I think that saying they are 'soulmates' is the most beautiful way to put it. It covers everything. I do think they had a relationship - but it was beyond labels and catagories- it was a beautiful adventure for 6 years Entrance: What is the worst date you have ever been on? OH MY GOD! I've only had one bad date- but it was horrid. I won't go into detail, but I will simply say that it was miserable. He kept inadvertantly insulting me all through dinner- It was so awful that I wasn't even upset- I just thought it was funny, and would be a great story later on. Entrance: Can you tell me one story about you that you have NEVER revealed in public before?
Adrienne: Sorry Bryan - you'll just have to guess :-) |
